Bangladeshi community get ready to celebrate International Mother Language Day

The Bangladesh Association Swindon has organised an event to celebrate the International Mother Language Day for Friday 21st February 2020.

The event will be held at the GWR Park, Faringdon Road, Swindon, where the community have established a purpose built monument to observe this occasion. 
This event is celebrated around the world on 21st of February every year.
 
Guests in attendance to mark this event includes the Honourable High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Mayor of Swindon, Robert Buckland MP for South Swindon and the Police and Crime commissioner Angus Macperson.
 
The Bangladesh Association also invites members of all communities to be present to mark this special event.
 
Mr Kahar "As the president of the Bangladesh Association I am delighted to be able to establish this purpose built monument with the support of the community.
 
"This monument is a symbol of all the languages that is spoken not just locally, but also nationally and globally."
 
Swindon can be proud of it's multicultural community and as a town can celebrate the fact that, collectively, we speak more than 130 different languages, each with it's own unique history and culture."

Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on the 21st of February and is a day which creates awareness and understanding of the diversity of languages which exist in our society and to appreciate the value it carries. I would love to invite everyone to celebrate this day with us."
