Veterinary receptionists Kayleigh Page and Danielle Bowers have been nominated for the prestigious British Veterinary Receptionist Association (BVRA) Veterinary Receptionist of the Year Award. Danielle and Kayleigh work at Drove Vets Stratton branch and have made a significant impression during this time, becoming an integral part of the community. Clients and colleagues alike have nominated them for this award in recognition of their dedication and contribution to the veterinary team.

The award highlights the importance of the vet receptionist role to vet practices and gives colleagues and the general public the opportunity to thank them for what they do. Danielle says, “Any role in a vet practice can be challenging and no two days are ever the same, but I really love what I do! I was thrilled to receive my nomination - it is so lovely to be recognised in this way, especially as clients and members of my amazing team were involved.”

Working as a vet receptionist requires a lot of specialist knowledge and skills. They learn about a wide range of veterinary topics including neutering, vaccinating, post-operative care, pet behaviour and nutrition.

Customer Services Manager Naomi Strange says, “We are delighted and very proud that Kayleigh and Danielle have been nominated for this award. They are very popular with clients, making them and their pets feel welcome and cared about, while managing stressful duties that include being the first point of contact for telephone emergencies. It is great to see that our clients value them as much as we do.”

Nominations for the BVRA Veterinary Receptionist of the Year Award are now closed and Drove Vets eagerly awaits announcement of the short-list later this month, before the winner is awarded their prize at the BVRA congress in March. Clients and members of the practice team are wishing both Danielle and Kayleigh lots of luck.

Drove Veterinary Hospital is always happy to support pet owners with questions about their pet’s health. You can contact the practice to find out more about booking an appointment at drovevets.co.uk or call 01793 522483.
