Friends of Angel's Orphanage are hosting an evening of music and poetry to raise money in aid of orphaned children in Nepal who live in poverty.
The charity will now be hosting their annual Winter Concert with special guests including Strike a Chord Classical Brass Ensemble, harpist Christine Kinder, and Flame & Co's Flamenco Poetry.
In a statement released by the charity, Friends of Angel's Orphanage said: "We have returned from an amazing trip, spending lots of time with the children. My how they have grown. In fact that is an interesting point because they are growing to be noticeably big for Nepalese people. It shows that the better diet and better care of paying dividends are effective.
"There was a lot to do and a lot of money needed spending - not least because they are growing. New shoes are always needed - school shoes/white shoes (plimsolls), indoor shoes and outdoor winter shoes. As we do not buy 'expensive' they do not have a lasting capacity, so not many can be 'handed-down'. It is very cold now once the sun has gone and so warm socks and trousers were also a necessity as were new winter jackets."
The Winter Concert takes place 15 December from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 which will go towards Friends of Angel's Orphanage.
