A successful Arts Festival is seeking a new Chair of Music to take its Music Section forward.
The Wootton Bassett based group, who concluded their 12th successful Music Festival in July. Are seeking a new Chair after the stepping down of John Davies after 9 years of service.
The Royal Wootton Bassett Arts Festival, said: "We are now looking for an enthusiastic replacement to take the Music Section forward, after the stepping down of our long-standing Chair, John Davies. The Chair of Music needs to be enthusiastic and want to share their love of music-making with the public. Just as important is their ability to be organized, to come up with new and fresh ideas and the ability to work with the rest of the Festival team."
They continued: "Arts are central to the culture in our community, but, threatened by budget cuts wherever you look. Therefore, we believe organisations like us are all the more important these days."
The Arts Festival is a celebration of artistic talent in and around Royal Wootton Bassett, providing performers an opportunity to perform in public, while gaining feedback on their work from professional musicians. Classes are offered in Music; both instrumental and voice and Speech and Drama.
For those not wishing to perform, the Arts Festival shared their openness to new committee members: "We need people to organize our trophies, hand out certificates and organize teas and coffees. These might seem like small jobs but if we had a few more volunteers for these roles it would lighten the role all round."
If you would like to join The Wootton Bassett Arts Festival their Extraordinary General Meeting is on Thursday 26 July at 7pm.
