Swindon Cycle Fest is to return to the County Ground athletics track on Sunday 29 July as a celebration of all the fantastic way and opportunities to cycle locally.

Following the success of the inaugural festival in 2016, event organisers Mitchell Cycles and the Swindon Cycle Campaign are bringing back the free fun-filled day with an exciting programme designed to inspire more people to get onto two wheels.

The festival will begin at 9am with a selection of led rides for all abilities, with the full site opening between 10am and 4pm for visitors to meet lots of manufacturers and local cycling clubs, to enjoy great food and drink, and to dive into the riches of a brilliant bike jumble.

Janice Mitchell, co-organiser of the event said: “If you weren’t one of the 1,000 people to join us last time, where were you?” And this time we have even more to offer. As well as all the different stands and activities throughout the day, we really want local cycle lovers to join us to create a big bike jumble where you can find bargains big and small.”

The festival is all about rediscovering – or finding for the first time – a love of cycling. So, whether you’re looking for your child’s first wheels, a new basket for your sit-up-and-beg, or an accessory for your weathered commuter, the festival’s jumble sale is the place start looking for a pre-loved bargain that will kick-start a long summer of riding.

Jumble pitches are filling up fast, so if you’d like to set up a stall, costing just £5, or you’d like more information, contact festival volunteer Roger Osborn on [email protected]

But even if you’re not looking to buy and sell on the day, Swindon Cycle Fest once again promises to be a great day for family and friends.

The organisers are soon to announce more of the day’s activities, including details of a high-adrenaline stunt performer, kids’ races, a pump track and much more.
