Police are appealing witnesses after the theft of £500 cash from a property in Swindon.

The house owner in Wolsely Avenue, Swindon answered the door to an unknown male at around 9am on Wednesday, 28 June 2017.  The man claimed he wanted to look at her roof and the woman, believing him to be a genuine builder, let him in.

However, upon entering the property he took £500 in cash; the property owner grabbed the man by the wrists and pushed him out of the door - he then drove off in a vehicle.

The property owner was unhurt, but shaken.

An e-fit of a man officers would like to speak to in relation to this incident is attached.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.  They would particularly like to hear from a group of council refuse collectors who were nearby when the offender drove off.

If you have any information regarding the theft or the identity of the man, please contact PC Frank Key on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
