Kingsdown School students took part in a professional skills development workshop delivered Swindon Amazon team.
Year 10 pupils from the Hyde Road School were taught how to create a great CV and interview preparation techniques by a team of managers from the fulfilment centre, as well as learning about apprenticeship opportunities available at Amazon.
The workshop gave students an insight into a career at Amazon and the opportunity to develop their professional skills.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “We really enjoyed supporting the wonderful pupils of Kingsdown School in the development of their professional skills, which we hope will set them up well for the future.
"We also want to say thank you to the staff and students for the warm welcome – our team loved meeting everyone.”
One of the pupils who attended said: “I really enjoyed hearing from the Amazon team about what it’s like to work at the company and have a professional career.
"My friends and I learnt a lot of valuable skills that will help us as we set out on our own careers. Thanks, Amazon!”
Kingsdown Careers Coordinator Barbara Parry said: “Thank you to Amazon for supporting the educational development of our pupils.
"I know that our Year 10s really enjoyed taking part in the workshop the team hosted, and they used the opportunity to their advantage by asking insightful questions and taking everything on board.”
The workshop was held as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon is providing students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than 6m healthy breakfasts to families across England.
