The team at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Swindon kicked off the company’s busiest season with a series of activities to celebrate the site’s third anniversary in the town.
As the site’s anniversary fell over calendar days including Halloween and Diwali, the site pulled out all the stops to embrace the diverse and inclusive culture the company champions.
Activities included movie days and pumpkin carving for children during the half term holidays in October, Diwali sweet giveaways and musical performances. The celebrations also saw the team head into Amazon’s busiest season of the year – peak.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “We’ve had a great three years in Swindon, and it was important for us to mark the occasion in this small way. We wanted to say thank you to our team and celebrate the diversity of people that work in our building. We also wanted to set ourselves up well for getting to the end of the year with enthusiasm and unity. It’s a pleasure to be general manager of Amazon in Swindon, working alongside an excellent team to deliver for customers all over the country. Here’s to many more years together!”
Elena Gincu, who works at Amazon in Swindon, added: “It was lovely to get together with my colleagues and have fun celebrating our third anniversary. There’s so much diversity across our team, and hosting so many activities was a great way for us to witness and get involved with other people’s cultures. We all make Amazon in Swindon the great place to work that it is.”
