An all-electric carbon 'battle bus' is to visit Swindon as part of a national tour.
September will see Swindon Borough Council host a local event for businesses as part of a 12-week Zero Carbon Tour across the UK, ahead of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow.
The Zero Carbon Tour, which is supported and funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will see the UK’s first fully electric Carbon Battle Bus visit towns and cities across the UK.
It will make a stop in Swindon on Thursday, 9 September and businesses and organisations are invited to attend.
The event will be hosted by the council at Steam, the Museum of the Great Western Railway, from 2pm to 5pm.
Cllr Keith Williams, Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Finance and Commercialisation, said the visit was a fantastic opportunity for businesses in Swindon to equip themselves with the knowledge and tools to be part of the Race to Zero campaign, while also providing the opportunity for those local businesses and other organisations to learn from one another and share practical tips and advice.
