Solar energy specialist BELECTRIC UK has been announced as a co-sponsor of this year’s Wiltshire Bee & Honey Day.
The Brinkworth-based company, a member of the Elevion Group, is supporting the free event as part of its commitment to boosting biodiversity.
The Wiltshire Bee & Honey Day is due to take place at Devizes Corn Exchange on Saturday 10 October and runs from 10am to 4pm.
Organised by the Wiltshire Beekeepers Association, it attracts hundreds of people and provides local honey, candles and mead, plus children’s activities and public talks.
Jake Garrod, BELECTRIC UK’s Head of Ground Maintenance, is responsible for ensuring the company’s solar farms improve the local ecology and promote biodiversity, which includes sowing wildflowers, planting trees and restoring hedgerows, and the construction of special habitats for bees, bats and amphibians.
He said: “Climate protection and species protection go hand in hand, so we’re delighted to support this year’s Wiltshire Bee & Honey Day.
“It’s a great way to raise awareness of the vital importance of bees to our food crops and ecosystems, and how we can all play a part in safeguarding their future.”
