The Homebuilding Centre Limited has been awarded the highly respected Good Business Charter (GBC) accreditation.
The centre - the employee-owned business behind the award-winning National Self Build & Renovation Centre - says the accolade underscores its unwavering commitment to ethical business practices and social responsibility.
The Good Business Charter is an independent certification recognising responsible business behaviour across ten key components. These components ensure that businesses operate with integrity, fairness and respect for all stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers and the environment.
Managing Director Harvey Fremlin said: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved the Good Business Charter accreditation. This milestone reflects our dedication to upholding the highest ethical standards in all our operations and reinforces our commitment to making a positive impact in the local community and the environment.”
To earn the GBC accreditation, The Homebuilding Centre Limited adhered to 10 principles: Real Living Wage, Fairer Hours and Contracts, Employee Well-being, Employee Representation, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Environmental Responsibility, Pay Fair Tax, Commitment to Customers, Ethical Sourcing and Prompt Payment to Suppliers.
In a recent survey, 97% of people said they valued businesses that operated ethically and sustainably. The GBC’s independent certification distinguishes The Homebuilding Centre Ltd as a leader in ethical capitalism, highlighting its commitment to putting people and theplanet first.
CEO of the Good Business Charter, Jenny Herrera, said: "The National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) reflects the values we champion at the Good Business Charter through their commitment to responsible business practices.
"Their decision to join the GBC following a recent Employee Ownership Association Annual Conference, and their proactive promotion of our principles at recent events, highlight their dedication to ethical and sustainable business. We are thrilled to recognise their efforts through this accreditation."
