The HR Dept Launch ‘HR Dept in the Community’ to raise money for the Jessie May Trust

Human resources provider The HR Dept is taking part in the ‘HR Dept in the Community’ campaign to raise money for a local charity throughout September. Nationally, The HR Dept franchises have chosen local charities to support.

The HR Dept’s central office has partnered with The HR Dept Bristol and The Health & Safety Dept Bristol to raise funds for The Jessie May Trust, a charity based in the South West that cares for children with life-limiting conditions in their own homes.

They have created an itinerary that includes fundraising activities throughout the month. It consists of an indoor cycling challenge that will cover 688 miles, a team walk up Pen y Fan, cake sales and a charity quiz night and raffle.

Sixty-four-year-old Fintan O’Toole, the owner of The HR Dept franchise in Sutton, walked 160 miles to Bristol, arriving at The HR Dept head office on Monday, 4 September. Fintan is raising money for Myeloma UK.

Fintan said: “I have been fortunate to own and manage a franchise for this national organisation for over sixteen years, and Head Office seemed like a fitting destination for the walk.

“Other franchisees across the country will be taking part in a number of community-based programmes for charities and other good causes this month. Our ‘HR Dept in the Community’ initiative will bring us all closer together, and the walk will be just one of many exciting events – several of which will involve cakes!”

Felicity Kenny, Managing Director of The HR Dept, explained: “As a national franchise network, we wanted to find a way to raise money and support charities close to our hearts. We are coming together to encourage each other across the network whilst raising vital funds for local charities.

“It is great to see so many of our HR Dept business owners get involved in their local area, for what we hope will be the first year of many HR Dept in the community fundraising months.”
