Kube Medical has made what it says is a significant investment in new technology.

By adding a therapy laser to its arsenal, the Swindon Chiropractic, osteopathic and physiotherapy clinic clinic is expanding its capabilities to provide what it promises is excellence in accelerated injury recovery to its patients.

Clinic chiefs say laser therapy is a non-invasive and pain-free treatment option for various kinds of injuries and ailments, helping to promote faster wound healing, relieving pain and inflammation.

Laser therapy works through a process referred to as photobiomodulation, which the clinic says can stimulate or inhibit cellular function. This process delivers a therapeutic dose of light to the targeted tissue.

During a pre-purchase trial period, the laser exceeded all expectations within the clinic.

Clinical Director Samantha Campbell said: “We found patients responded really well. One patient with a broken wrist felt well enough after just two treatments to try knocking down a wall! While we wouldn’t recommend this, their experience convinced us that it was a capability we had to have.”

Since introducing laser therapy to its treatments, patients have received treatment on sports injuries, scar tissue, and as part of their Chiropractic and osteopathic treatment plans.

The clinic has run a number of case studies to demonstrate its capabilities. In one case study, 18-year-old rugby player Tom Bieneman received treatment in the week following a shoulder dislocation.

“It’s been amazing and I’ve had no pain since doing the treatment,” he said. A week and a half after injury, he is progressing onto rehabilitation work, representing a significant improvement on normal expected progress – approximately three weeks to achieve this milestone.

Fitness enthusiast Steve Tomlin, 59, injured his leg during a class.

He said: “I had a laser session for both calf and hamstring on my leg. It was as if the practitioner had a magic wand not a laser.

“I did an exercise class the following morning, taking it steady to ease back into exercise, and again the muscles felt pretty good. I had another one two days later and by the next day there was no pain at all. Laser seems the way forward!”

K-Laser Territory Manager Derek Tillotson said: “Laser Therapy is used extensively within elite and professional sports to aid with their rehab and recovery programmes.

"Incorporating this technology within the clinic underlines Kube Medical’s commitment to providing first rate care to its patients.”

Kube Medical is Swindon’s only multi-disciplinary clinic that combines the skills of Chiropractors, osteopaths, McTimoney Chiropractors, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, cranial Chiropractors, rehabilitation, Shockwave Therapy, Laser Therapy and sports and massage therapists.
