Swindon Mayor Cllr Garry Perkins will be a guest at the opening of McCarthy Stone's new Retirement Living Plus development in Swindon.

Local retired people are invited to inspect the development, Gilbert Place, at the opening on Monday, 17 January.

The Show Suite Opening, which is set to take place at the development on Lowry Way between 10.30am and 5pm, will be an opportunity to take a closer look at the professionally-styled show suite.

Cllr Perkins will perform a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to mark the show suite opening, and guests will be able to find out more about how what is described as a high quality, low maintenance apartment in a first-class location could help them make the most of their retirement.

An experienced sales team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Verity McKay, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy Stone Southern, said: “We are so excited to welcome visitors to Gilbert Place on Monday, 17 January to help us celebrate this important milestone.

"Guests will be able to look around the stunning show complex, which perfectly highlights the modern designs and luxurious surroundings that our homeowners will enjoy, and we look forward to demonstrating the enviable lifestyle on offer here.”

When complete, Gilbert Place will comprise one and two-bedroom apartments for the over-70s, with the first occupants expected in early 2022.

Future homeowners at the Gilbert Place Retirement Living Plus development will have access to a communal lounge billed as perfect for socialising with new neighbours, landscaped gardens maintained by McCarthy Stone’s team, and a guest suite for when family and friends come to stay.

For those who may require additional help, Gilbert Place will also have an on-site estate manager and an experienced team will be on hand day and night to oversee the running of the development, and to provide tailored domestic support packages to suit individual needs.

The development will also feature its own bistro-style restaurant serving freshly prepared meals every day, while secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.

Prices at Gilbert Place currently start from £245,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £329,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. Rental and part-buy, part-rent options are also available.

Attendees at the opening are required to book a private, one-to-one appointment in advance in order to maintain social distancing and ensure everyone’s safety by calling 0800 310 0383.
