MAN Truck & Bus (who have a branch in Swindon) have had their climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

MAN Truck & Bus aims to become greenhouse gas neutral in balance sheet terms by 2050 at the latest.

It's aims have been validated by the climate protection initiative, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This has landed so that the validation coincided fittingly with Earth Day 2022 - Friday, 22 April.

The commercial vehicle manufacturer has committed to this in 2021 as part of the SBTi.

The first step is to save 70 percent of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the company's global sites by 2030 compared to 2019.

In contrast, the GHG fleet emissions per vehicle kilometer of trucks, buses, and vans sold by MAN are to be reduced by 28 percent by 2030 compared with the base year 2019.

The commercial vehicle manufacturer has now set itself these targets in order to take account of the Paris Climate Agreement and make a contribution to limiting climate change.
