A newlywed couple say they knew they had found their dream Swindon home as soon as they stepped through the front door at a local new-build development from Redrow Thames Valley.
Marie and Tom Harrison, and their daughter, moved into Redrow Thames Valley’s family-friendly, three-bedroom Warwick home at Badbury Park in March of this year.
Senior Bereavement Specialist, Marie, was born in Swindon and had been living in the local town of Liden before moving to Badbury Park. Having recently married her partner of nine years, Tom (who was born in North Wales), the newlyweds said they had originally planned to save, but decided to see what was on offer in Swindon.
Tom, a business consultant, regularly commutes to his London office when not working from home. This meant the couple were keen to find a home in the region that had quick, commutable routes to the capital, and transport links to the rail network so he could also return to Wales to see his family easily too.
Upon visiting Badbury Park, the couple were said to have been attracted to The Warwick, which is available from £350,000. Marie explained: “We had seen so many houses from different developers, and the Heritage Collection from Redrow was in a different league – especially in comparison with other new build properties. The bedrooms were all generously sized, and the exterior design of each property was picture perfect with its traditional character.
“We were keen to start married life together with a blank canvas so that we could make our first house together a home. We loved the idea of moving into a new build development and the community feel that comes when people all share a similar experience at the same time.”
She added: “It was like love at first sight from the moment we walked through the front door of the show room. Watching Tom take his shoes off instantly gave me this feeling of home.
“We were so eager in fact, that although we were originally waiting to save up for a couple years before buying, we were convinced that we might lose the plot we wanted. With this in mind, we changed our financial arrangements, so that we could put down a deposit to secure the new property.
“Since moving in, we have quickly settled into Redrow life at Badbury Park – and things couldn’t be more perfect. Each time we walk through the front door, we smile and feel privileged to call this our home. It truly is our dream house and we look forward to making many memories here over the years to come.”
