Leading developer and manager of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone is inviting local retirees to join the Mayor of Swindon for the official opening of Gilbert Place.

The official opening will take place on Thursday 26 January between 12pm - 3pm at the new Gilbert Place Retirement Living Plus developement.

Guests at the event, will be joined by the Mayor of Swindon, Cllr Abdul Amin, who will be officially opening the development, on Lowry Way with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Attendees will also be able to enjoy a glass of fizz and find out more about how a high quality, low-maintenance apartment in a first-class location could help them make the most of their retirement.

"They will also have the opportunity to talk with current homeowners about the independent lifestyle available at Gilbert Place and its thriving community."

Those interested in attending the opening are required to book an appointment in advance by calling 0800 153 3076.

Mayor of Swindon, Cllr Abdul Amin, says: “I am very much looking forward to my visit to Gilbert Place where I understand a sociable and friendly community has already been established for like-minded local people. I am sure Gilbert Place will continue to take its place at the heart of the local community in Swindon.”

Nicki Beswarick, Divisional Marketing Manager at McCarthy Stone Southern, added: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Mayor for the Official Opening of Gilbert Place, which has fast become a flourishing community of retirees looking to live their independent lifestyle to the full.

“The event is a great opportunity for local retirees to discover more about what’s on offer at Gilbert Place, where high-quality, well-appointed apartments are paired with an enviable selection of on-site facilities.”

Exclusively designed for the over 70s, Gilbert Place comprises 66 low-maintenance one and two-bedroom apartments said to combine well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms with bright and spacious living areas.

The McCarthy Stone team say a communal lounge area hosts regular events and provides a chance for residents to forge new friendships.

The team adds that there are well-maintained, attractively landscaped gardens to explore, and homeowners can also invite family or friends to stay in the hotel-style guest suite. For those fancying a break from cooking staff say there is, an on-site bistro serves freshly prepared meals each day.

An Estate Manager oversees operations, while staff are always on hand to provide tailored domestic support to meet individual needs. McCarthy Stone says further reassurance is provided by secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points. Flexible purchase options are available to make moving even easier.

More than nine out of 10 customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, meaning it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation. McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this rating every year it has taken part in the survey.

To reserve a spot at the opening event or to discover more about Retirement Living Plus at Gilbert Place, individuals can call 0800 153 3076 or visit www.mccarthystone.co.uk/gilbert-place.
