Mayor of Swindon Garry Perkins cut a ribbon to officially open Sofology's store in the town.
Located at Unit 1, Wootton Bassett Road, the site is the nationwide chain's 49th.
Sofology regional head of retail Shaun Cook said: “It was great to see such a positive response from local shoppers at the Swindon store and we were delighted to have the Swindon Mayor, Councillor Garry Perkins, officially open the store.”
Open seven days a week, the new Swindon location has been designed to showcase the sofa specialist’s exclusive collection of upholstery, furniture and accessories.
In addition, with customer and staff safety remaining a priority the store has safety and hygiene measures in place in line with all Government advice and guidance.
Sofology promises that as part of its ongoing commitment to carbon efficiency, the store will be powered by 100 percent renewable electricity and will be equipped with the latest digital retail technology to reduce unnecessary waste, reducing impact on the environment.
The store will also build on the firm's partnership with the Woodland Trust. The PlanTree initiative has seen over 100,000 trees planted in the past year, supporting The Woodland Trust in its efforts to restore native woodlands and protect wildlife habitats.
With a further eight stores expected to open this year, the Swindon branch is part of Sofology’s expansion plans to ensure customers across the UK have access to their stylish choice of designs.
Sofology says it is driven by one mission - to help everyone feel at home on a sofa they love, believing great value comes from timeless design, lasting quality and responsible craftsmanship.
