Swindon tradespeople are invited to vie for a £20,000 national accolade awarded by a specialist shop chain.
Screwfix, which has three branches in the town, has announced the return of its annual competition, Screwfix's Top Tradesperson.
The firm says it aims to celebrate the outstanding work and professionalism of tradespeople, particularly over the recent challenging period.
One exceptional individual will win a £20,000 trade bundle.
Entrants will be shortlisted to take part in semi-final interviews. The top 10 will then be selected to join a virtual final in the autumn, where the winner will be crowned by a panel of industry experts.
Screwfix spokesperson Danielle Sweet said: “Tradespeople have had to adapt to new ways of working as many people have still needed support with work in their homes and gardens in recent months.
"Now more than ever, Screwfix would like to reward a tradesperson who not only champions their trade with the right can-do attitude, but also acts as an ambassador to highlight the great work trade professionals carry out, no matter the circumstance.
“Since the competition launched in 2009, we have seen thousands of quality entrants every year and we are excited to see what 2020 has to offer.
"We recognise the importance of supporting tradespeople who always go the extra mile for their customers, and I look forward to reading this year’s entries as we look to crown one high calibre individual as Screwfix Top Tradesperson.”
Last year’s winner, North Lanarkshire roofer Darren McGhee, said: “Winning this competition is the ultimate recognition a tradesperson can receive.
"In the past year, I have continued to grow my business while helping to raise the standards of the roofing industry. I would definitely encourage others to enter this life changing opportunity!”
Entry is open until 30 August, and details can be found at https://www.screwfix.com/landingpage/btt/
