The UK’s fastest-growing security company, SSGC, has announced its first acquisition as part of its ongoing growth strategy.

Swindon-based security service SSGC has acquired Security 2000 Ltd, a family-run firm which provides a range of security services across Bristol, Avonmouth, Clevedon, Wiltshire and the South West.

The partnership means SSGC has been able to add mobile patrols and keyholding to its list of services. This is also the first deal announced, following the launch of its major acquisition drive earlier this year.

The deal is said to already be bearing fruit as it has enabled SSGC to introduce a new customer to Security 2000, becoming the preferred supplier for the South West for a national provider of keyholding and alarm response services.

David Stubbs, CEO of SSGC, said: “One of the main focuses of our acquisition drive is acquiring businesses that are looking for external backing to support their own growth prospects.

“That’s exactly the case with Security 2000, who we’re delighted to welcome to the SSGC stable as our first completed acquisition deal.

“The company has an outstanding reputation for professionalism and service across a range of sectors and that’s an undoubted position of strength to build from.”

Security 2000’s main focus is preventing crime against commercial enterprise, which it carries out on behalf of many blue-chip organisations and is responsible for the protection of more than five billion pounds’ worth of property and assets.

Accredited by the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), the company prides itself on exceptionally high client retention.

Security 2000 director Richard Rees said: “We’re responsible for protecting industrial and trading estates and an ever-increasing portfolio of business and residential clients across the South West. It’s why this partnership with SSGC comes at a great time for us as we continue to grow.

“Our client retention is probably the highest within the security industry and some of our clients have been with us since our first day of trading.

“We’re delighted to be working with David and his team at SSGC.”

Mike Lloyd and Tanya Wilson, partners in Haines Watts chartered accountants, were both involved in advising on the transaction.

Mike said: “We were both pleased to assist and advise on the transaction and are delighted that we were able to help in bringing it to a successful conclusion. We wish all parties every success going forward.”

SSGC, which ranked 10th in the Infologue 2021 Top 45 UK Security Companies, says it places a huge emphasis on social value, giving back to underprivileged communities and providing employment opportunities to all regardless of race, colour or gender.

A signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, SSGC employees more than 500 veterans and helps many combat physical and mental challenges as they settle back into life after service.
