A charity which uses outdoor adventure to inspire vulnerable young people has been chosen for a funding boost by a major company.

South West commercial finance brokerage and consultancy SWBF says it realises that every client requires a unique and personalised approach.

In the same way, it says, the Youth Adventure Trust provides individualised support for vulnerable young people throughout Wiltshire through their early stage, long term programme of outdoor activity and adventure.

The trust has so far helped more than 4,000 people aged 11 to 14 to build resilience, develop confidence and learn valuable skills that they can take forward in their journey through life.

Throughout the year, SWBF staff will be taking part in fundraising activities including a Virtual Resilience Challenge, a quiz night, a golf day and the 3 Peaks Challenge, which involves conquering Ben Nevis, Scafell, and Snowdon.

SWBF managing director Dan Smith said: "SWBF is delighted to be working with Youth Adventure Trust in 2023.

"YAT carry out incredible work with young people in the local community, from building essential life skills to providing fantastic and challenging adventures, which ultimately help build confidence in their own abilities and help achieve their full potential.

"This really hit a chord with our team when deciding which charity to partner with in 2023 and we have already been impressed with the proactive approach YAT have taken to the partnership.”

Mark Davey, CEO of the Youth Adventure Trust, said: “We are delighted to be working with SWBF and their staff, who will have a tangible local impact by helping to make life-changing opportunities for vulnerable young people who live and go to school close to their office.”
