Taxi firm Veezu held a series of events to mark road safety charity Brake's Road Safety Week.

The firm, said to be the UK's fastest-growing taxi and private hire technology platform, has its Swindon base in Hargreaves Road.

It is supporting Brake’s work campaigning for safe and healthy mobility – factors the business says have always been a priority across its five hubs

Brake supports people affected by road death and serious injury with emotional support, legal advice and information and, like Veezu, campaigns for policy change to progress towards safe and healthy mobility for all.

Road Safety Week aims to educate people on road safety whilst raising money for Brake so that they can continue to support road crash victims and their families with their National Road Victim Service.

Veezu held a series of roadshows across their regional hubs to raise awareness of the campaign within their community of Driver-Partners.

The roadshows served as a refresher to educate drivers on road safety and its importance, and a Road Safety Quiz featured, with a free tank of fuel up for grabs.

Nathan Bowles, CEO at Veezu, said: “We’re proud to be supporting Brake’s Road Safety Week by raising awareness of the campaign with Driver-partners and their passengers, whilst hopefully raising some funds for the charity’s incredibly important work.

“Veezu facilitates more than 20 million rides every year across the country, and we want every single one of them to be completed safely for Driver-Partners and passengers. It’s important to us to support Brake in any way we can to help make this possible.”

Laura Challis, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Brake, said: “We can’t thank Veezu enough for their support this year, first as corporate donor and now with their support of Road Safety Week.

“This campaign is so important to ensure everybody is educated about road safety and collisions are avoided as much as possible. We also appreciate the fundraising support it gives us, so that we are able to continue to support victims of road traffic collisions wherever we can.”
