Stagecoach are offering free travel for all active military and veterans across the town and country for Armed Forces Day.
Stagecoach, which operates extensively in Swindon, is on a public mission to give back to the local servicemen and women that have protected our country over the years by offering them free travel.
On Staturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, veterans all over the country can enjoy free travel with Stagecoach as part of the company's continued commitment to support them and celebrate Armed Forces Day.
With a team of 24,000 staff and 8,300 buses,coaches and trams Stagecoach is one of the leading bussiness in the public transport industry.
The transport giant, that has a presence in Swindon, also runs services in London, Manchester and Hull as well as various other rural locations in the UK.
Simon Tramalloni, Interim Operations Director for Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire & South Lancashire and Armed Forces & Veterans Co-Lead said: “We are extremely proud and honoured to confirm free travel for all serving personnel, veterans and cadets on the 29 and 30 June throughout the UK.
"This is our ongoing commitment to the wider armed forces community and a privilege to honour those serving personnel, veterans, cadets and their families
"This is the least we could do to honour those that serve and represent the armed forces community”.
This commitment to free travel for the Armed Forces is supported by Stagecoach’s employee led Veterans Network. The network was launched to allow Stagecoach colleagues to come together as one voice to creatw change, raise awarenes and help influence business decisions to make the company stronger.
Serving troops and cadets must be carrying their military ID; while veterans will have show either their medals or veterans ID apon enetering one of Stagecoache's many public transport services.
