Only one home remains unsold at South Marston development

Construction is coming to an end at a new development in South Marston.

Bellway has sold all but one of the 70 new homes being built at Vicarage Gardens, which include 65 houses for private sale and five affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

A total of 50 of the private properties, on the former South Marston Hotel site off Old Vicarage Lane, are occupied and all the affordable homes have been handed over to a local housing association. Work on site is due to finish soon.

Christel Hawkins, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “This represents the last chance to buy a home at this very popular development. Right from the start we had a high level of interest in this site.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is providing £600,000 for local services which includes contributions towards primary education, facilities for outdoor sports, allotments, bus services and the enhancement of Nightingale Wood wildlife site. 

Ms Hawkins said: “The one house that remains available is a Bayberry detached house – a spacious four-bedroom home which is an adapted accessible property and offers a top-quality finish and a design created to provide the perfect layout for modern living.
