Film lovers in Swindon can officially get excited as Vue confirms that its new Swindon site will officially open this December, bringing the big screen experience to Greenbridge Retail Park this Christmas - and tickets are on sale now.
The 12-screen site will open to the public on Friday 8 December, meaning Swindon customers will be able to see the hotly-anticipated Wonka on its release date.
Further investment will be made beyond the opening date, with a comprehensive refit to come in 2024, when the venue will be upgraded throughout to include Vue’s signature leather recliner seating.
Better yet, Vue has today confirmed that the popular IMAX screen previously housed in the Empire cinema will remain in Swindon, making it Vue’s fourth IMAX screen across the UK.
Toby Bradon, General Manager of Vue UK and Ireland said: “We know that fans of big screen entertainment in Swindon have been eagerly awaiting an opening date for our new site, so we’re delighted to officially confirm that Vue Swindon will be opening its doors very soon indeed, and look forward to welcoming customers to enjoy the latest blockbusters, classic titles and the best in live music, sport and theatre.”
Vue Swindon will be located at Greenbridge Retail Park after Vue acquired the former Empire cinema. The site will join existing neighbours, Nuffield Health and Pizza Hut along with a myriad of shops and a soon to-be-opened Hollywood Bowl, making it the ideal location for a family day out.
