A Swindon-based mental health and wellbeing charity has received a £500 donation from the town's Amazon fulfilment centre.
IPSUM helps people in Swindon and the surrounding areas to address issues including mental, psychological and emotional health through a range of therapeutic support services including talking therapies, music and art.
The donation follows a crafting and wellbeing workshop held by the IPSUM team for employees at the fulfilment centre.
The Swindon Amazon team supported IPSUM since 2022 with several donations totalling £6,000.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “IPSUM is a fantastic charity that we are pleased to continue supporting. We hope this donation lends a helping hand to its staff and volunteers and we want to thank them for coming to the fulfilment centre to spend time with our team.”
Donna York from Amazon in Swindon nominated the charity for a donation. She said: “It’s great that we can support IPSUM with this donation and continue building our relationship with the staff and volunteers thanks to Amazon. I really enjoyed the craft workshop the team hosted recently, too.”
Julie Mattinson from IPSUM said: “Thank you to David, Donna and the team at Amazon for this donation. Mental health and wellbeing are such an important topics and donations like this help us raise awareness of the services we offer for the local community. I would urge anyone in need of support to get in touch.”
The donation to IPSUM was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than six million healthy breakfasts to families in England.
