A mix of musical performers filled Christ Church in Old Town this weekend as the Annual High Sheriff Concert or 'Swindon Cares Concert' presented an evening of entertainment to a large audience.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Swindon under the 'Swindon Cares' banner, the event was hosted by High Sheriff Pradeep Bhardwaj, and the evening's MC - BBC Wiltshire’s Ben Prater.
The programme opened with “Puttin’ on the Ritz” performed by Ten in a Bar, and then saw performances of tracks from JTPT Concert Choir, including “I’ve got Rhythm."
Through programme advertising and donations, organisers said the evening will have raised over £4,500 which will go to Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Services, who work to provide much-needed assistance to those experiencing domestic abuse.
A spokesperson for the event said: "The standard of music was exceptional by all the singers, whether soloists or choir members, and particular praise is due to young soloists Estella Smith and Indiana Parsons.
"Professional singer, Harry Apps, who trained here in Swindon with Janice Thompson, excelled on the night and in particular, delivered a clever and entertaining rendition of Agony - a duet by two princes, both performed by Harry!
"A highly successful teaming of two choirs with first class support by the two accompanists, Kirstie Smith and Shelley Morgan were also in attendance. The performers all clearly love to sing and their enjoyment shone throughout the evening."
