The GWH charity Brighter Futures has launched its Winter Shoebox Appeal to for those staying in hospital over the festive period.

Brighter Futures is asking for members of the public to donate gift items in shoeboxes for the adult patients staying in the hospital over the Christmas period.

The charity has compiled a list of things that can be gifted, including Christmas cards, chocolate and sweets, toiletries, hats, scarves, gloves and more (the full lists of items can be found in the photo gallery above).

A list of items that the charity asks not to be included in the shoeboxes is as follows:

  • Alcohol
  • Food items that requires chilling or cooking
  • Tinned foods
