Swindon Classic Car Club held a classic car show and fun day at the Sun Inn in Lydiard Millicent in aid of Prospect Hospice.
By the end of the successful gathering the classic car enthusiasts and their visitors had raised £1000 which will be used by the hospice in its work bringing end-of-life care to people across the Swindon area, as well as comforting and helping their loved ones.
A club spokesperson said: "The car club, which has circa 70 members was set up just over 2 years ago, specialising in British and European classic cars, 1930s to 1990s.
"The club decided to mark the end of a fantastic show season by raising funds for the Prospect Hospice by holding the car show and fun day for the members, including a cake stall, auto jumble tugboat racing , raffle and other fun activities .
"This was followed by tunes from their very own Elvis and a buffet to end the day.
"A great day was had by all, with prizes for the best cars and highly competitive races in the tug boat challenge, all whilst raising much needed funds for the Prospect Hospice."
Club founders Bob Taylor and John Dunn said none of this would have been possible without the generosity and support of the club members and their families, together with The Sun Inn, Lydiard Millicent, who kindly offered the use of a large field, marquee and staffing for the day.
The car club meets at the Sun Inn on the first Wednesday of each month from 6.30pm.
