They say they had a jam-packed September, completing various fundraisers to raise money for Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as raising awareness for World Alzheimer’s Month.

Undeterred by the cancellation of this year’s larger fundraising events, some of the team decided to  take part in a 'Walk 30 miles for Dementia UK' challenge.

Caregiver Sabrina Williams and Community Engagement Officer Rachel Jannaway raised a total of £295.

For World Alzheimer’s Month, the team aimed to raise awareness about dementia-related illnesses among their network, sharing advice and tips across their social media and encouraging individuals to become Dementia Friends.

The team also hosted a virtual Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for the cancer support charity.

The Teddy Bears Picnic themed morning saw the office team bring in their favourite childhood cuddly toys, take part in quizzes and enjoy plenty of cake and hot drinks.

The event was also streamed via Microsoft Teams, allowing the office team, caregivers, clients, and family members to interact and fundraise safely.

Home Instead Business Development Manager Toby Kirk said: “Our team had a great time organising and taking part in the various fundraisers during September, and we look forward to planning more in the future!

"Rachel and Sabrina both did a great job with their individual fundraisers, further displaying their dedication to helping elderly people in the community.

“We are proud to have raised a total £332 for Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support. They are great charities that do a lot of work to support our elderly clients, so we are happy to have been able to donate this money to them.”
