Swindon's award-winning Wessex Male Choir will take to the stage with Basingstoke Ladies Choir to perform a concert in aid of Prospect Hospice at Highworth Warneford School on Saturday 18 May starting at 7.30pm.

The concert organised by Prospect Hospice’s Highworth Support Group, promises to be an entertaining evening with a programme that will have something for everyone. The money raised will help the hospice continue to provide dedicated end-of-life care across Swindon, Marlborough and north east Wiltshire.

Jill Worthington, Highworth Support Group member said: “We are really pleased that the award-winning Wessex Male Choir have agreed to come along and perform at our concert.”

“This will be the largest event that our support group has organised and we are really looking forward to it.”

Prospect Hospice’s Highworth Support Group formed in May 2014 following an information evening about the hospice, has raised over £11,000 for the hospice. The group put on fundraising activities throughout the year including, monthly teas, race nights, quiz nights, and busker nights.

The event comes off the back of the Wessex Male choir's most recent success at both the 2018 Mid Somerset Festival and Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts taking first place in the Male Choir and other classes, recording a new CD, and welcoming new members following a recruitment drive.

Basingstoke Ladies Choir, support a number of good causes by donating profits from concerts to other charitable organisations. They sing to a high standard and have won competitions as well as having appeared in BBC's Last Choir Standing.

Tickets are £12.50 per person – To book tickets: visit the Lighthouse bookshop in Highworth, or contact Joan from the Highworth Support Group by calling 01793 762853 or emailing [email protected].
