The Wroughton Carnival Committee will host its annual Duck Race at Willowbrook Gardens on Monday 5 May.
The venue will be Willowbrook Gardens and stalls will be open from noon ahead of the first race at 12.30pm.
Ducks will be on sale from Monday 7 April from Coventry Farm Stores, local pubs, The Club, trhe Beehive Cafe and on Friday mornings in April in the Ellendune Community Centre between 9am and 11am.
A spokesperson said: "We will be running the Brian Tildesley 'decorate and keep your duck' race again this year, as it was so popular last year. They are £2."
Businesses can buy a business duck for £25 to decorate and race, and these can be ordered by contacting Bev on [email protected] or 07824 398516.
There will be food stalls and teas, coffees and cakes provided by Wroughton Girlguiding.
Business Challenge Shield - Local businesses can enter the best dressed duck competition and then race them. £25 entry.
Mike Smith Memorial Race - Adults’ race £1 per duck. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & last.
Mike Hinder Memorial Cup - ‘Anything that floats’ - Heats, followed by Grand Final depending on number of entries. Design and build something that will float. Individuals, families, groups welcome to enter. Any materials but no electrics. Dimensions 12 x 6 x 6 inches (300 X 150 X 150mm). Enter free by 2pm on the day.
Brian Tildesley Memorial Race – Anyone can buy a small duck in advance (contact Bev Margerison on 07824 398516 or [email protected]) for £2 to decorate, race and keep. Enter by 14.00 on the day. This was a new race last year, which was successful.
Participants will be asked to answer the Easter-related questions along the route, and are asked to bring a clipboard and a pen or pencil if they can.
Entry will be priced at £2.50 per child with a small prize for all entrants, and dogs on leads welcome on the walk, although they are not allowed in Trefoil House.
Refreshments will be available to purchase, provided by Wroughton Girlguiding.
