Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) is set to donate half of net sales generated in its Managed Houses on Tuesday 14 November to selected charities.
The move by the firm, which has a pub/restaurant in Wichelstowe, is part of its 2023 fundraising programme.
Having already donated and raised over £300,000 for local causes this year, Hall & Woodhouse’s Charity Day is expected to result in a donation of at least £70,000. Funds will be split between mental health organisation Mind and The British Red Cross Disaster Fund Appeal.
Anthony Woodhouse, Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, said: “At Hall & Woodhouse, our purpose is to make people’s day and enrich our communities, whether it's through a fabulous guest experience at our pubs, or our involvement with local fundraising. It’s a privilege to support charities and the vital projects that make such a difference.
“While we enjoy annual events that provide direct funding for local people and good causes, we’re also aware of the need for urgent support happening across the country, and the world. We recognise that it’s our duty to do all we can to help where necessary.”
As part of its fundraising activities in 2023, H&W was again the headline sponsor of, and operated all bars for, the three-day Dorset-based family festival, Teddy Rocks, which raises funds to help fight children’s cancer and provide support for affected families.
With the H&W team volunteering their time free of charge, the total amount from sponsorship and profits from the bars donated to the festival was nearly £140,000.
Mr Woodhouse added: “Raising such a significant sum with the rest of the year still to come is a huge achievement. We’re incredibly proud of the entire H&W Family and want to thank each and every member of the team for their efforts so far this year.
"We hope to surpass the 2022 total of £600,000, another step toward reaching our goal of donating and raising £1million per annum by 2027.”
