Lexus Swindon and the children’s hospice charity Julia’s House are inviting local business people to join a special networking event later this month.
Julia’s House children’s hospice, which cares for families of the most seriously ill children across Wiltshire, has been chosen as Lexus Swindon’s 2024 Charity of the Year.
The networking morning will kickstart a year of fundraising activity and support for the charity by the Lexus Swindon team.
Taking place at the Paddington Drive dealership in Swindon, on Wednesday 27 March from 8am to 10am, the event will feature an insightful talk on 'Cultivating Culture’ from the Julia's House Chief Executive, Dr Martin Edwards.
Now approaching his 15th year as the charity’s CEO, Dr Edwards will share ideas and stories from his own experience of leading an organisation that was last year named the ‘Best Charity to Work For’ at the national Best Companies awards.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore how Julia’s House fosters a culture of support and excellence, and gain valuable insights into creating a positive workplace culture.
The event will also provide the opportunity to network with other local business people, and enjoy breakfast refreshments.
Ben Wildeboer, Lexus Business Centre Manager, said, “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Julia’s House Children’s Hospice as our chosen charity for the year 2024.
"At Lexus Swindon, we believe strongly in supporting local charities, especially those that provide essential care and support to families facing the unimaginable challenge of having a seriously ill child.
“Many of our staff members have families of their own, which makes our support for Julia’s House particularly meaningful to us. We are dedicated to ensuring that families in our community have access to the exceptional care and support that Julia’s House offers during such challenging times.
"As a brand, Lexus has always prioritised workplace and company culture, recognising its importance in fostering a supportive and thriving environment.
"We are excited to welcome Dr Martin Edwards, CEO of Julia’s House, to share his expertise on this topic at our upcoming networking event.”
Jo Common, Corporate Fundraiser for Julia’s House, said: “This is our first time hosting a networking event, so we’re really excited and delighted to have the support of Lexus Swindon.
"The event will offer a brilliant opportunity to exchange ideas, build partnerships and socialise with other local business people over coffee and pastries.
“We’re so pleased that the team at Lexus Swindon have chosen Julia’s House as their Charity of the Year for 2024.
"As a charity, Julia’s House only receives around eight per cent government funding. And this year, we’re anticipating that our care costs and the demand for our care will continue to increase, so we’re even more reliant on our amazing supporters to help us provide our lifeline of care for local families.”
Tickets for the Julia’s House Networking event cost £10 per person plus VAT and booking is essential.
