The Youth Adventure Trust has announced its latest fundraising challenge.

Summit Under the Stars will give people the chance to hike Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons National Park by moonlight on Friday 26 September.
The charity has been helping young people from Swindon, Wiltshire and Somerset fulfil their potential, build resilience and lead positive lives since 1992.
Sponsored by leading outdoor retailer Ellis Brigham, Summit Under Stars will begin at 9pm with participants hiking to the highest point in South Wales.
As an International Dark Sky Reserve, the Brecon Beacons offers some of the best stargazing in the UK – from the summit, adventurers may have the chance to see the Milky Way, meteor showers, and dazzling constellations lighting up the night sky.
Mark Davey, CEO of the Youth Adventure Trust, said: “Summit Under Stars is more than just a hike – it’s a powerful symbol of the journey our programme participants go through.
"Every step taken up Pen y Fan helps us support vulnerable teenagers who are climbing their own personal mountains every day.
“Through our long-term Adventure, Resilience and Mentoring programmes, we use outdoor experiences to help young people develop confidence and learn skills that last a lifetime.
"This challenge is a chance for our supporters to reflect that same spirit of perseverance and adventure – and to help change young lives in the process.”
All funds raised through Summit Under Stars will go directly towards the Youth Adventure Trust’s programmes – long-term initiatives that help vulnerable 11 to 16 year olds build resilience, develop confidence and learn the skills they need to face life’s challenges.
Whether participants are joining solo or as part of a team with friends, family or colleagues, this fully supported challenge promises to be an inspiring and accessible experience.
The route is expected to be completed by midnight, making it a powerful but manageable undertaking for a wide range of fitness levels.
As well as Ellis Brigham’s support, which includes providing Black Diamond head torches for participants to use, the event is also backed by the Merrell Hiking Club, who are helping to ensure the challenge is open to all.
Participants will benefit from exclusive discounts on Merrell hiking equipment and the option to borrow shoes or boots if needed – removing barriers to participation and helping more people get outdoors.
Participants can choose between two entry options - raise funds for the Youth Adventure Trust and pay a £20 registration fee (refundable upon reaching the £250 fundraising target), or opt for a self-funded place with a £200 registration fee.
Entry fees include VAT and help cover the cost of delivering a safe and memorable event.
Places are limited and early registration encouraged. To sign up or find out more, people can visit: www.youthadventuretrust.org.uk/summitunderstars.
