GALLERY: Swindon Night Shelter celebrates 10 years with party for volunteers

Swindon Night Shelter held a tenth anniversary party last night (feb 26) at Arclite House in Peatmoor organised by their charity supporter local entrepreneur and Excalibur chairman James Phipps.

The evening, which included live music from Jol Rose and food by Swindon's Hospitality Services, was attended by 80 volunteers.

Night Shelter is a Christian organisation helping the homeless and vulnerable in the Swindon area. 

They run a Night Shelter every Friday night from 9pm – 8am at St Mary’s Church Hall, Cheney Manor Rd, Swindon SN2 2PF

At the Shelter they offer a hot meal, a chance to shower and wash clothes and a bed for the night. There’s an opportunity to relax, chat, receive advice about help and support in the week.

They also worki closely with other services in Swindon to provide signposting and support throughout the week.

The charity also works with local supermarkets and other businesses in Swindon, to collect and distribute Charitable Surplus to those who need and can use it.

Other schemes they are invoived in are Big Breakfast + and The Haven Day Centre.
