The team at Watchfield-based independent charity Root and Branch said in a statement: "2020 has been a year like no other, but with your help, here at Root and Branch we continue our commitment to create a safe and secure place and help our service-users in their recoveries through respect, learning, compassion, and friendship.

"Thank you for your continued support through volunteering and donations. It is very much appreciated and has made a huge difference this year.

"In these challenging and uncertain times, we need your support more than ever.

"There are lots of ways in which you can help us raise the essential funds needed to continue supporting people who experience enduring mental health difficulties."

The charity's website lists ways in which people can help, including shopping with Amazon Smile, buying handmake Root and Branch gifts such as Christmas wreaths and sending Root and Branch Christmas cards.

People can also simply make donations. The charity says £5 buys a bag of compost for planting flowers in the spring and £15 buys a single taxi fare for service-users who, without transport, would not be able to come to Root and Branch.

A donation of £25 buys an hour of vital adult literacy learning with an external tutor, and £45 buys a day at Root and Branch for a service-user.

The charity also welcomes enquiries from would-be volunteers.
