The next Samaritans open event so people can find out about volunteering will be held on Saturday 15 February.
It takes place at Chiseldon House, Stonehill Green, Westlea, West Swindon from 10am to 11.30am.
The charity is always seeking dependable people willing to donate some of their valuable time to help at Swindon & District Samaritans – so please come along and find out more without obligation.
Spokesperson Maggie Gill said: "We have a range of volunteering roles available including as listening volunteers to help people at difficult times of their lives by providing confidential non judgemental emotional support - every six seconds we can help someone turn their life around. As a Samaritans volunteer said: “Now, I take quiet comfort in knowing that by answering the phone, I can help someone feel better about themselves”"
