Children's bereavement charity Wiltshire Treehouse has been honoured as Charity of the Year 2024 in the Wiltshire Life Awards.
Sarah Bear, Business Director of the Swindon-based organisation, said: “Nomination, let alone winning is an honour. Such recognition is testament to the dedication of our volunteers, trustees, and the staff at Wiltshire Treehouse across the years.
"Thank you to all those who nominated our charity and to Wiltshire Life.
“From a small start of volunteers and 1 employee on 10 hours a week the charity has grown, now supporting over 1000 beneficiaries a year and having a positive impact on over 65,000 children and young people through our work.
“This December we celebrate our 10th birthday, a huge milestone for the charity. As part of our celebrations,we invite beneficiaries from across the years to get in touch if they would like to share their stories with us, helping the charity give hope to those starting their relationship with grief.”
Wiltshire Treehouse can offer advice for parents and carers, and guidance for schools and local community groups on how to best support their bereaved children.
The charity also provides therapeutic bereavement support programmes. People can contact Wiltshire Treehouse at [email protected] or through www.wiltshiretreehouse.org.uk
