Officers are appealing for information to identify a man they would like to speak to in relation to an assault on a shop worker.

An unknown man entered the Co-op store on Cricklade Road at the Ferndale Road/Chapel Street junction and took eight blocks of cheese. As he went to leave the shop, without making any effort to pay for them,  a member of staff, who confronted the man, was then punched by the suspect.

Although very shaken the shop assistant was not seriously injured.

The incident happened on Tuesday 2 August 2017 at around 10pm.

Pictures of a man police would like to speak to in relation to this are attached.
