A free summer project has been announced for youngsters aged between 10 and 20! The project is created to encourage participants in overcoming their personal struggles and producing a positive mindset.

Young people and students are invited to visit Restorative Youth Services and work together in a small group for two hours a week, for four or five weeks (or as many as they can manage allowing for holidays) to decide on a subject of interest to them connected with society and the various pressures they encounter. This might also include how social media - and access to relevant web sites - can be a positive influence and support for young people with a range of emotional problems. We have so many young people needing help for a range of problems, some of which are very serious and involve self-harm.

The small group would decide on how best to go out and about in the community to gather information from other young people, members of the public, and professional staff, perhaps using recorded interviews, filming, surveys and questionnaires, before analysing the information and putting together an exhibition of findings for public display with the media in attendance, as the guest of the Mayor of Swindon.

If you would like to be part of this group that would be brilliant. You can also bring along friends or relatives…anyone between the ages of 10 and 20 are invited to participate.

For more information, simply visit The Dock Swindon or email [email protected] and give us your name, age, and contact details.
