Police investigating a robbery at the Spar Esso Garage in Royal Wootton Bassett in January are once again asking for the public's help - and have released pictures of distinctive trainers work by the offender.

On Sunday 28 January 2018, a man walked into the garage in the High Street at around 9.30pm and jumped onto the counter to gain access to the till, stealing around £110 in cash and some stamp booklets.

He left via the front door and fled the area on foot, towards the rear of the filling station.

The suspect is described as male, around 5ft 6ins tall, of muscular build and he was wearing grey and black clothing. His face was covered.

DC Gemma Lumley, from Melksham CID, said: "Although we did issue a witness appeal immediately after the robbery, we are now at a stage of the investigation where we can release this CCTV image in the hope that we can identify our suspect through his trainers.

"These are very distinctive, brightly-coloured trainers, and we know that someone will recognise them and match them to our description of the offender.

"Although nobody was injured, this was a frightening incident for the member of staff working in the garage at the time and we want to appeal to the public to help us catch the person responsible."

Anyone with information should contact DC Lumley on 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
