Officers are appealing for information to identify a man they'd like to speak to in relation to an assault on a motorist in Swindon.

Around 1pm on Tuesday 12 September, an unknown man was cycling the wrong way on Commercial Road when he collided with a car.

The suspect then kicked and threw his bike at the car causing scratches and dents to three panels.  He then opened the driver's door and punched him three times to the face.  The cyclist then walked off leaving his damaged pushbike behind.

The victim received injuries to his jaw and the side of his face.

A CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to in relation to this is attached.

PC Bryan Rumbold said:  "This was a particularly nasty, unprovoked attack on this driver.

"This was in broad daylight, in the middle of a busy part of town - someone must have seen something suspicious or perhaps the incident itself.

"If that is you, please come forward."

If you can help with enquiries please contact PC Bryan Rumbold on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
