Pupils from Kingsdown School in Swindon took part in a CV and professional skills development workshop delivered by Amazon.

Year 11 pupils were taught how to create a great CV and shown interview preparation techniques by a team of managers and graduates who work at Amazon in Swindon. The pupils also learnt about apprenticeship opportunities available at Amazon.

The workshop follows a similar session that the Amazon team hosted for Year 10 pupils in the school last year.

Speaking on the workshop, David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “We were so pleased to be invited to return to Kingsdown School for the second year running.

“It was great to engage with the students through the professional development workshop, and we hope the skills they gained will be of help to them in their future endeavours. Thank you to Kingsdown for a successful day.”

Soteris Manoli is a recent graduate who works at Amazon and helped deliver the career development workshop. He said:  “As a recent graduate, I understand the importance of having a good CV and strong interview techniques.

“It was great to be able to share my tips and tricks with the wonderful Kingsdown students and give them an insight into our roles at Amazon.”

Emma Leigh-Bennett, Headteacher from Kingsdown School said:  “Thank you to Soteris and the Amazon team for contributing to our students’ professional development. I know that our Year 11s thoroughly enjoyed participating in the workshop.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for them to think more about their career direction, their professional skills and how to prepare for their life beyond school.”
