Ascend Learning Trust hosts inspirational speakers for staff development event

Ascend Learning Trust held an insightful day for its Trust Academies with multiple inspirational speakers from various backgrounds and experiences.

At its recent Teacher Development Day event, Ascend Learning Trust invited inspirational speakers from various backgrounds to come along and share their knowledge and stories.

Anthony Bennett delivered a speech on Self-Challenge, Resilience & Teamwork. Anthony walked staff through the physical and mental journey he went through before, during, and after his time in Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, following a near-death experience on a school trip to Disneyland Paris. 

Peter Hall-Jones, a partner for The Spiral Partnership LTD, delivered a session on Leadership to Develop Belonging, aiming to help individuals promote positive change in themselves and others.

Sufian Sudiq is the Director of Teaching School at Chiltern Learning Trust. He too delivered a session, entitled 'Racial Equality: A Walk in My Shoes.'

Sufian aimed to challenge the thinking of Ascend Learning Trust staff as he discussed challenges he has had to face throughout his life.

Ben Walden is an international speaker and workshop leader. His session was based around the need to communicate vision and purpose, in a way that inspires their teams to reflect their passion and commitment.

Using the story of Shakespeare’s most inspiring leader Henry V, the leadership teams had to choose the challenges they wanted to explore.

Furthermore, Elly Chapple delivered a session on 'SEND; Equity and Inclusion by Design.'

Jon Gibson a Director of Backdrop Education and Backdrop Coaching, also delivered a session on Coaching and Nicola Pearson - a teacher and consultant - delivered a session on Developing Resilience in Children.
