It’s the season for giving, and students from Abbey Park, Orchid Vale, and Highworth Warneford schools in Swindon have helped to collect a minibus full of Christmas presents to be donated to local families in desperate need.

Churches in Swindon once again ran a Christmas Toy Appeal this year and staff, students and families have contributed generously.

On Thursday 5th December, a group of eleven year 8 students met with Dawn Prosser at the Bible Society to support the work of this year's Swindon Christmas Toy Appeal (link to photos below).

Alexandra O'Brien, English Teacher and Toy Appeal coordinator, Abbey Park School, said: “Our students were exceptional; they worked extremely hard sorting toys into specific age categories for different areas of Swindon and did so with lots of enthusiasm, wearing Christmas jumpers and huge smiles! They were the epitome of what we call ‘Abbey Park School Proud’, receiving special credits for their efforts.”

Due to the generosity of Swindon donors, including the schools, 750 children will be benefitting from this year's appeal.

Families in need will be nominated by agencies, churches, and schools across Swindon to receive presents.
