Lawn Manor Academy has been rallying staff, parents and businesses to ensure that its first preloved sale is a success.
Next month, on Saturday, 26 November, the school will be opening its doors from 10am - 11.30am and offering a range of quality preloved and new clothes, school uniform, home accessories, shoes, toys, bric-a-brac and more to eager buyers.
All goods have been donated to the school and money raised will be used to support the school’s families most in need this Christmas.
The school says the star of the event will be the raffle, with the top prize of a Swindon Town Football Club season ticket for one adult and one child.
Other prizes have been donated by Freedog and The Hair Group in Old Town. However, Lawn Manor says there is still plenty of opportunity for businesses to get involved to donate prizes to support local families.
Marek Koza, Assistant Headteacher at Lawn Manor Academy, said: “The school community has come together in a fantastic way to donate top quality new and preloved goods, clothing and school uniform for our first preloved sale. However, we are now calling out to any businesses who may be in a position to join STFC, Freedog and The Hair Group in donating a prize for our raffle.
“Every year at Christmas we put together hampers for our families who might be finding the time difficult. This year, we decided to organise this preloved sale to boost the support we’re able to provide and hope this will be the first of many sales.
“The preloved sale will also include school uniform as we recognise that this is an aspect of school life that can concern parents at all times, not just during a cost of living crisis.”
