New College's Adult Learning Centre will be running a free course with aims of helping jobseekers to prepare themselves for employment opportunities.
The course will run from Monday 5 June - Friday 9 June at the New College Adult Learning Centre (Focal Point, Fleet Street, Swindon, SN1 1RQ).
Each day will run from 9.30am - 4.30pm.
This Step Into Employment course is said to be for anybody looking at returning to work or a change of career.
It will cover topics such as CV writing, cover letters, interview preparation, a personal skills review and more.
New College staff say this four-day course will give attendees a plan of action along with the knowledge and confidence needed to take the next steps back into work.
The Step Into Employment course is available and free to those who meet the eligibility criteria, and who are aged 19 or over, and have been a resident in the UK/EU for over three years.
A spokesperson from New College explains: "Free courses at the Adult Learning Centre are available to those who meet government funding rules and are in receipt of Universal Credit AND unemployed, and earn less than £617 per month (individual claim) or earn less than £988 per month (household claim) but not in a work related activity group, ESA (not in WRAG), Council Tax Support, Housing Support, Income support or the unwaged dependent of someone receiving Working Tax Credit with a household income of less than £20,319.00.
"Furthermore, free courses are available to those who meet government funding rules and are in receipt of Universal Credit and unemployed and earn less than £617 per month (individual claim) OR earn less than £988 per month (household claim) and in a work related activity group OR those working, who may not be claiming benefit and earning less than £20,319.00 annual gross salary full time equivalent."
