Pupils at Noremarsh Junior School had a day of fun trying out pottery as part of their school topic.
Anna Pope, a parent volunteer and keen potter, recently shared her skills with children at Noremarsh Junior School.
Pupils learned shaping techniques to fashion cats out of clay, to link in with their chosen class book, ‘The Mousehole Cat’ by Antonia Barber.
Anna said: “My father is a professional potter and I wanted to share the skills and techniques I have learned with the children so they can produce something really special that they can be proud of."
Year 4 pupil Abigail enjoyed making her cat, and said: “We get to do loads of fun stuff in my class, we are also making lighthouses today with real working lights in them!"
Hilary MacMeekin, Headteacher said: “It is lovely to see the children learning new skills and we are very fortunate to have such a wealth of talent and support within our parent community.”
