North Wiltshire SCITT (NWSCITT) have a virtual event coming up for anyone considering training to become a teacher.

Those wishing to learn more about why NWSCITT could be the route for them can join the organisation's virtual zoom call on Wednesday 29 March 2023 at 7pm.

NWSCITT says it believes the best place to train teachers effectively in the highly complex art of teaching, is in schools.

During the event, the organisation will aim to give people practical information about applying for teacher training and why the SCITT route might be the right choice. The event will also share the NWSCITT's current programmes and top tips for a great application.

NWSCITT offers Initial Teacher Training across Swindon, Wiltshire and the surrounding areas.

Its programmes are one-year, full time, and are available in both the Primary (5-11 years) and Secondary (11-16 and 14-19 years) phases. There are bursaries and scholarships currently being offered for some secondary subjects to assist with funding.

Cohorts are intentionally kept small, to enable a supportive and personalised provision.

Will G, a current PE Trainee, said: “I have been incredibly lucky to train at NWSCITT.  The training is exceptional and the course leaves no stone unturned, giving me the very best training for my future career.  The team at NWSCITT are incredibly professional, diligent, helpful and above all supportive.”

Lauren W, current Maths trainee said: “NWSCITT are a super supportive team, who are willing to go above and beyond.”

Those interested should register their interest by Friday 24 March - this can be done online at: nwscitt.org.uk.

Alternatively, individuals may email [email protected]
